Our Mission and Values
Jews are taught the ideas of Tzedakah (charitable giving), Tikkun Oiam (repairing the world), and Gemilut Hasadim
(performing acts of kindness) from birth. They are central pillars of Jewish tradition and are all ways that are
concerned with taking action to make the world a better place. They can take many forms and there are many ways of
giving to those less fortunate.
The JSF Is a charitable grant-making foundation that support Jewish athletes that lack sufficient funding, barring
them from participation.
We do this in the interest of inspiring, helping, and promoting a new generation of young people and would-be
athletes to rise above prejudice and achieve their goals.
Our Vision and Philosophy
Nine times out of ten people think of a nice little Jewish kid as the one who will grow up to sit behind a desk
preparing your taxes, rather than hoisting a trophy on a field or in a stadium.
It's time to change these misconceptions.
The JSF works to to promote leadership that dispels negative stereotypes that Jews are not or cannot be great
athletes.
The Jewish Sports Foundation (JSF), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded in 2007. Our goals are to honor
Jews who have distinguished themselves as athletes, and to foster Jewish identity through athletics by supporting
young people to participate in competition.
